Mary Hope Wood, 94, formerly of Kansas City, KS died Tuesday, January 30 at Villa St. Joseph Care Center in Leawood, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 2, 2018, at Guardian Angels Church, Westport and Mercier, KCMO. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2018, at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood, Blvd., where the rosary will prayed at 6:30 pm.
Mary was born September 6, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Harry and Aline (Duncan) Brown. She was a lead clerk for the Social Security Administration until her retirement in 1988. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Silas on October 6, 1974, two infant children and her sister, Grace Warner. Mary is survived by her son, Jim Wood and his wife Pam of Kansas City, MO and one grandson Silas Dalton.
