

Marylou A. Williams, 78, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 20, 2013. She was born January 7, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Fred and Ruth (Tandy) Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lester Williams.
Marylou received her education in the Kansas City school district graduating from Lincoln High School and also attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Marylou was a life time member of Willis Chapel AME Church and a dedicated Sunday School member at Holmeswood Baptist Church.
She retired from the Internal Revenue Service. After retirement Marylou went back to work for the City of Kansas City for a period of time. She was a very active person, and was a member of the IRS Retirees Club, 54th Street Club, and American Business Women Association. Marylou volunteered throughout the community and especially at I Can School.
She leaves cherishing her memory her seven children Pam Williams, Lynn (Joseph) Grant, Eric Williams, Byron Williams, Gina Williams, Kent (Holly) Williams, Jeffrey (Heather) Williams; six grandchildren Essence, Jayd, Gabriel, Grace, Zollee, and Luke; great-granddaughter Diamond Williams; God-daughter Dawn Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, at Holmeswood Baptist Church, 97th and Holmes, Kansas City, Missouri.
