She grew up in Kansas City, MO and had one sister, Susie. Maudell grew up with a passion for dancing after graduating from high school and completing two years of college, she performed professionally across the United States and Canada.
After two years of travel, she returned to Kansas City and married Robert Wendt in 1947. They had two daughters, Kimberly and Constance. She was always active in her daughters lives as Girl Scout leader, home room mother, PTA member, tutor, culinary coach, seamstress and so much more.
When her daughters were old enough to be in school, she began her modeling career that continued until she was asked to be the Assistant Buyer in Cosmetics at the newly-opened Halls Crown Center. After a few years in that role, she was invited to be the receptionist for the Hallmark Corporate Headquarters. She loved her job and met many interesting people who were involved with Hallmark.
After retiring at age 67, she began working for the Greater KC Community Foundation. After another retirement, she began working for Ft. Dodge Animal Health and retired for the final time at age 84.
She was beautiful, kind, supporting and loving. We were blessed to have her as a mother and as a strong, independent role model. We will miss her every day.
Maudell was preceded in death by her sister Susie. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Greenlee and Constance Wendt (Mark Stipetich).
