Max Olin Daugherty went to meet his wife and sons at heavens gates on July 20, 2022. Funeral services will be held July 29th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Max was born March 11,1934 to Harry and Iva Rhea Daugherty, who preceded him in death.
Max married the love of his life, Gladys Alvena Witt, on June 26, 1955. Gladys preceded him in death October, 2008.
They lived in Ottumwa, Iowa until 1959 when they moved to Independence, Missouri. After moving to Missouri from Iowa, Max worked in the trucking industry until his retirement in June,1991
Max and Gladys had six children, Wayne (Mary) of Peculiar, Missouri; Rick (deceased 2020); Cheryl Arnell of Kansas City; John deceased 2008, (Monica) of Harrisonville; Daniel of Kansas City; and Lisa (Brad) DeNicola of Wartrace, TN. Max has 6 grandchildren Nicholas (Kim), Tracy (Eric), Nicole, Ellie, Zachary and Thea. Max was the youngest of 10 siblings, all whom have proceeded him in death.
Family meant everything to Max, especially his grandchildren.
