In 1943, her family relocated to Kansas City, MO and Maxine worked as a secretary with the railroad for most of her career. Maxine also worked as a "hat-check girls" at the old Pla-Mor Ballroom on Main St.! Maxine retired from Allied Signal (formerly Bendix). In 1956, Maxine married Daniel Schlagle and they had two daughters, Karla and Lisa. In 1967, the family moved to Raytown, where Daniel and Maxine made their home for 40 years. Maxine passed on August 8 at the age of 94 at her daughter Lisa's home where she lived for the last 5 1/2 years. She left this world with her two daughters holding her hands.
