

Michael Keith Curtis (Mike), Olathe KS, passed away Dec 30, 2015 at Shawnee Mission Health Hospital after an illness in December. Michael was born on Feb 13, 1960 at St Luke's Hospital in KCMO, the youngest of 4 children of Keith & Charlene Curtis (preceded in death) of Overland Park, KS . He is survived by sister & brother-in-law Donna & John Bowling; sister Alea Curtis; sister Michelle Curtis; nieces & nephews Jason Bowling & Emily Wang Lucas & Jake Bowling ; Greg & Laura Bowling, Caleb & Lily Bowling; Clifton & Kelli Bowling, Riley, Sam & Charlie Bowling;
Jessica & Larry & Jocelyn Berg; Tiffany Doorn & Jeremy Doorn. Loving cousins Rob & Susan Curtis, Kelly, Russ, Lilian, Katelyn Muehlberger & Brian Curtis and many others.
Michael was first & foremost a loving son, brother, co-worker & friend to all who knew him.
Following in his dad's, footsteps...he loved practical jokes & loved to laugh. He had a quick wit
& very few jokes got past him without a smile, laugh or a poke on the shoulder. He was an avid sports fan closely following KU basketball, the Chiefs, Royals, Seattle Seahawks, Texas Longhorns & OU football. He tracked all his teams in the sports pages of the daily newspapers. He always knew the current scores & records of each team & would gladly show you... Whether you asked or not.
From Jr. High on he was involved in Special Olympics participating in Basketball & track from 1971-2000. He bowled off and on in a bowling league until 2005. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High school; took classes at Johnson County Community College; was MEGA FAN & collector of the BEATLES with music, posters, t-shirts, etc. He loved movies was a big fan of Star Wars, John Wayne, Disney & action packed movies. His favorite foods were pizza, pasta & hot dogs with occasional salads.
In lieu of flowers the family would request donations to ARCARE, charitable fund (in the memo line) 8417 Santa Fe Drive, Suite 107, Overland Park, Kansas 66212-2756 in memory of Michael Keith Curtis.
We love you Michael, you made a place that no one else could fill in this world & you will be missed by many family & friends.
PERHAPS they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones SHINES DOWN to let us know they are HAPPY. ( Eskimo legend)
