Michael was born on August 9th, 2001 in Overland Park, Kansas to Ingrid and Daniel Keleti. He attended Leawood Elementary and Leawood Middle school and graduated from Blue Valley High School in 2020. He was enrolled at the University of Kansas where he studied Computer Engineering. Michael was talented at computer coding and was involved in research projects. He worked in front end development for Particle Space Company. Michael had a special interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly for students struggling with neurologic disabilities. He struggled with attention deficit disorder since early childhood. He was Vice-President of AbilityKU, an organization that served the disabled members of the student body. He was also Co-Chair of the Association for computing machinery. He was involved in a blockchain research project. He enjoyed discussing many topics including computer coding, 3 dimensional printing, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, his outdoor adventures, as well as other subjects.
Michael was a very active member of the University of Kansas Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He loved the family and brotherhood of the community there and was very close to Rabbi Tiechtel.
When his struggles increased he reached out to Father Mitchel Zimmerman at the Catholic Student Center and found peace and friendship there.
Michael loved to travel around the United States to various National parks and other scenic areas to rock climb with his friends. He would pack his SUV with as many friends and camping gear as possible and head out for a week. He also enjoyed biking and longboarding and skiing. There are too many friends to name, but a special message of love and gratitude to Sam Kosiborod, Tristan Verschelden, Blake Bowers, and Addison Brand.
Michael was kind, funny, and ambitious. He was a gentle soul. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his many, many friends. We are so grateful for the many kind friends in our Crossroads Family, especially for David and Rose Roberts.
He is survived by his parents, Drs. Ingrid and Daniel Keleti, his sisters, Isabel & Alexandra Keleti, his grandmothers, Martha Keleti & Ludgarde Broucke, and his aunts, Eva Keleti & Mireille Broucke. His family loved him dearly and we will forever hold him in our hearts.
