Michael Bruce O'Connor

Michael B. O'Connor, age 73, of Blue Springs, MO passed away March 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 5, 1947, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Bruce J. and Frances (Cortelasi) O'Connor . Michael grew up in Westchester, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. He graduated Fenwick High School in 1965 and Northern Illinois University in 1970.

Michael met Beverly R. Johnson in 1976 and they married on June 3, 1978 in Unity Village, MO.

He began his career at Pat Ryan and Associates in Michigan from 1972 to 1976 as a Travelling Finance Manager for Automotive Dealerships. In May 1976 to 1982 be was the Finance Manager at Jerry Hayes Ford in Independence. From 1985 to 1995 he was employed by Newcomer's Funeral Home and Cemetery, in Kansas City as a Pre-Need Funeral Counselor. Ending his working career as a courier for Quick Silver from 1995 to 2010. While Employed by Newcomer's Funeral Home he and Beverly travelled to Fuji, Maui, Jamaica, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Vienna, Austria and Western Caribbean Cruise. They also enjoyed 22 trips through Sandals Resorts travelling to Jamaica, Bahama, Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, St Lucia, and South Coast.

Michael was a member of St Robert Bellarmine Parish in Blue Springs, MO. Michael was a very outgoing person and made many friends over the years and truly enjoyed those friendships. He loved reading the newspapers everyday, keeping up with current events and happenings around the area, enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Chiefs, watching television, playing cards and poker and enjoying a beer or two.

He is survived by Wife: Beverly, Three Sisters: Kim Jakubek and Shawn O'Connor of Naperville, Illinois, and Marni O'Connor Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Nine nieces and nephews, Twelve great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
