Michael John Zdanys

Michael J. Zdanys, 56, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at home. He was born on September 5, 1969 to John Zdanys, Jr. and the late Marcia (Miller) Zdanys in Elkhart, Indiana.

Mike spent his elementary years living in Edwardsburg, Michigan. After that, for a short time, he lived in Texas but then relocated to Winter Park, Florida with his mother to be closer to extended family. Mike graduated there from Edgewater High School in 1988. While living in Florida, he enjoyed being on the high school diving team, participated in ROTC and later took up scuba diving.

After graduating from high school, he attended electrician school.

Mike relocated to the Kansas City Missouri area and eventually settled down in Gladstone, Missouri. While living in Missouri Mike began working for Southwest Airlines in 2006 and continued working there for 20 years.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and extended family, along with playing video games and being a firearm and hunting enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Zdanys. Mike is survived by his father, John Zdanys, Jr. of Elkhart, Indiana; son, Andrew Zdanys; daughter, Abigail Zdanys, both of Gladstone Missouri; and his sister, Laura Zdanys of Fishers Indiana.

A visitation will be held 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at McGilley Antioch Chapel. A graveside service will be held at a later date in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen Indiana.
