

Merty was born to Otto & Martha (Volmert) Dubbert on August 1, 1932 in St. Elizabeth, MO. She married Vincent “Punkin” Gramlich on October 11, 1958. Together they had four children, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Merty is being re-united with Punkin who preceded her in death on March 10, 2013; son, Dennis on July 27th 2008; and daughter, Nancy on May 22, 2013.
Survivors include daughter, Karen; son, Kelly (Kristy) & their two children, Kristopher (Kristen) & Kyle (Lindsay); granddaughter, Lauren (her mother Nancy); four great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Cael, Vivian, & Keaton; one brother, Alex (Minia); one sister, Blanche; several cousins, nieces, & nephews; and her puppy dog companion, Fluffy.
Merty’s career included being a pediatric nurse at St Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City. She spent 48.5 years at KC Women’s Clinic leaving in May 2013. Besides raising 4 children her hobbies included portrait painting, Sweet Adeline’s chorus competition, quilting, various positions on committees within Guardian Angels Church and School. She was very involved in the Church and many may remember her serving Mass. You could always count on Merty to be a key player in many events within the church community.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 27 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Guardian Angels Church, 1310 Westport Rd. Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. Luke’s Hospice (www.saintlukeskc.org) or Guardian Angels Church (guardianangelskc.org). Condolences may be offered at www.mcgilleymidtownchapel.com.
