Myrle Murphy, 96, passed away May 24, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 27 at Floral Hills Funeral Home with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Myrle was born in Hamilton, KS and had lived in this area most of her life. She worked as a purchasing agent for Bendix Corp. for 26 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Nall Ave. Baptist Church. Myrle was an avid quilter and gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband John; brothers Wallace and Oliver Smith; sons, Hollace H. Cross and Darryl L. Cross. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Joyce Apperson and Theresa Sampson; a son, Bob Murphy; 9 grandsons, Jason Cross, Chad Cross, Justin Stipe, Cole Cross, Joseph Apperson, Paul Apperson, Thomas Apperson, David Sampson and Rob Andrade; 4 granddaughters, Jamie Apperson, Jody Cross Jennings, Courtney Cross-Walston and Jeannie Sampson DeVeney.
