Nancy J. Davis… Moxie. She exuded it. Whatever it was, when it seemed impossible, she persevered to make it possible. Nancy J. Davis, 76, of Raymore, Missouri, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 5, 2019.
Nancy was deeply beloved by her family. A sprite and spire woman, she was affectionately nicknamed “Fancy Nancy” for her insurmountable spunk, spirit, and style.
Nancy, a 30-year heart attack survivor, suffered a third the evening of April 1. She valiantly fought, but ultimately, her heart was ready to leave this earth to reunite with her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) L. Davis. Bob passed away from cancer in 2004.
Nancy was born on October 16,1942 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late George Bradley, Sr. and Caroline (Winder) Bradley. She was the fifth of six children. She is preceded in death by sisters, Bobbi Dietderich and Terry Heitman; and brother, Wayne Bradley. She is survived by brothers George Bradley, Jr. and Gary Bradley.
Nancy married her sweetheart, Bob, in 1960, and together they raised three daughters. Kimberley Marlow of Unity Village, Missouri, Lorie (John) Owens of Camdenton, Missouri, and Robin Thomas of Kansas City, Missouri. After moving from St. Joe, Bob, Nancy, and their girls settled in Grandview, Missouri. She imparted valuable lessons to her daughters: success is the reward of hard work; creativity is contagious; when the heart speaks, listen; and using fabric dye to color carpet will turn your socks brown. She was quite simply remarkable.
Nancy abundantly spoiled and adored her six grandchildren: Robert (Blair) Marlow, Leslie (John) Freeman, Dustin Warren, Barret (Rachel) Thomas, Gavin (Lia) Thomas, and Aleigh (Paul) Flournoy of Kansas City, Missouri. Her grandchildren blessed her with eight great-grandchildren, whom she spoiled even more. She was also loved my many nieces, nephews, friends, and one-of-a-kind neighbors.
