Nancy Ann Simmons Hockemeier, 73, passed away January 4, 2013 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. Nancy was born August 26, 1939, to Benjamin Franklin and Eudora (Abbot) Simmons in Norborne, Missouri. In 1958, Nancy married Charles William Hockemeier in Norborne, Missouri. Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Scott Harrell in 1987, her parents, four sisters: Margarite, Katherine, Rosemary and Imogene; five brothers: Elmore, Albert, Bobby, Richard and Donald. She is survived by her daughter Amy Denise, husband Sean McKee and one grandson, Alex of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one brother Charles Simmons and wife Esther of Richmond, Missouri; three brothers-in-law Harrell Hockemeier and wife Karen of Versailles, Missouri, Jack Denzer of Overland Park, Kansas, and Arthur Moline of Plainfield, Illinois; two sisters-in-law Florence Simmons of Napa, California, and Elsie Simmons of Otterville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, with funeral services immediately following at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to aid in a scholarship fund for Alex McKee, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
