

She had been living with Alzheimer’s disease for several years. Her loved ones are grateful that she experienced no apparent pain and remained at peace.
Nancy was born on September 22, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Roy J. and Beverly Olson. She was the eldest of three children, followed by her brothers Terry and Peter Olson. The family lived in southeastern Kansas City, where Nancy attended Paseo High School until 1964, when they moved to Raytown. She graduated from Raytown South High School in 1965.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Beverly Olson; her brothers, Terry and Peter Olson; and her daughter, Amy Ball.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard (Ric) Houser; her son, Brent Murphree (Katie) of Osage Beach, Missouri; and four grandchildren: Alex Ball, Ashley Yang (Frank), Adam Ball (Emily), all of Arkansas, and Matthew Murphree of Osage Beach. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Candence Yang; three step-grandchildren, Brett Slead, Justin Houser, and Lucas Houser; and three step-great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Laurel Slead, and Max Houser.
Nancy earned an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology from Arkansas University. After returning to Kansas City in 1991, she worked as a private surgical technician in plastic surgery, a career she greatly enjoyed. She loved music, sunshine, water sports, and weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks. Nancy was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, where she sang in the choir and participated in numerous church activities.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 50, located at 914 NW Main Street, Lee’s Summit, Mo at 2:00 PM.
