

Naomi was born on April 11, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas; a daughter of Severo G. and Margaret Salazar Ojeda. Naomi was a graduate of Manuel High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She worked at several jobs, starting with Sears at the Bellas-Hess Building in NKC. She then joined the Post Office, before pausing to raise her family. Naomi then resumed her career working for the Kansas City School District at Manchester Elementary, Northeast Junior High & Paseo High. Naomi then rejoined the Post Office where she proudly worked until she retired at age 72.
Naomi was baptized at the Mexican Christian Church, which later became the Alta Vista Christian Church. She also attended Westside Christian Church, where she met and married Moses. She was also a longtime and faithful member of Belmont Christian Church and later enjoyed fellowship at Budd Park Christian, Jesus Cristo El Buen Pastor Church and Graceway Church.
Naomi served in several organizations, such as MANA, a National Latina organization and as a leader in both the Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts.
Naomi was a true mother to all. In addition to raising Terri, Rebecca, Linda & Richard, she & her husband Moses helped raise her brother, Michael’s children, Robert & Michelle. They also helped care for two other nephews and a niece who lived with the family at different times.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Salazar Ojeda and Severo G. Ojeda; her husband, Moses Segovia; her daughter, Rebecca Segovia; and 6 brothers, Modesto Ojeda, Eliseo Ojeda, Michael Ojeda, Ezekiel Ojeda, Reinaldo Ojeda & Alexander Ojeda. Survivors include 2 daughters, Terri Bly (Dan), Linda Segovia (Rogelio Martinez, fiancé); a son: Richard Segovia (Theresa); beloved nephew & niece, Robert Ojeda & Michelle Valles (Ojeda); 2 sisters, Perla Mora and Delia Markley; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation for Naomi will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Graceway Church, 5460 Blue Ridge Cutoff, Raytown, Missouri 64133. The memorial service will start at 2:00 PM at the church. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Maple Hills Cemetery, 2301 S. 34th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66106. Family and friends can meet at the church and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, KU Cancer Treatment Center or any other organization of your choice.
