

Natalie B Adams, age 89, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2023. She was born as Natalie Jois Baker on March 8, 1934 in Elkhorn, West Virginia to Tilden and Julia Baker. She grew up as a proud coal-miner’s daughter and devoted child of God.
In 1953, Natalie married the love of her life, Reverend Hobart Thomas Adams, with whom she shared many beautiful years of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they raised their three children, instilling in them the values of faith, resilience, and family.
Natalie dedicated her life to caring for others, both spiritually and physically. A devoted member of the Church of God, she supported worship services by playing various instruments and by providing spiritual guidance to its congregation. As a minister’s wife, she and her husband founded Faith In Action Ministries, where their calling was “Reaching out for the unreached.” This ministry continues to this day, supported by multiple generations of their children.
Driven by her dedication to care for others, Natalie had a long and fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. She worked tirelessly to provide comfort and healing to countless patients. Her compassion, dedication, and expertise made a positive impact on the lives she touched throughout her nursing profession.
Family was of utmost importance to Natalie and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tilden & Julia Baker; sister, Lillian Wolff; sons-in-law, Eddy Harper & Jeffrey J. Shore Sr., and the love-of-her-life, Rev. Hobart T. Adams. She is survived by her children, Hoberta (Steve) Harper Ingle, Rhonda (Scott) Adams-Nielsen and Gary T. (Susan) Adams; her grandchildren, Hoby Harper, Tilden (Jennifer) Harper, Natalie (Darrell) Bowles, Lauren (Keith) Shore, Jason (Megan) Shore, Preston (Ariel) Shore, and Thomas (Crystal) Adams; her great grandchildren, Holden, Carson, & Jocelyn Harper, Sophia & Silas Bowles, Levi Shore, Scarlet & Ella Shore, and Ezra & Salem Shore, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Natalie's legacy will live on through her selfless acts of care and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her unwavering kindness, strength, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.
A wake to honor Natalie's life will be held on June 7, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133, where family and friends can gather to pay their respects and offer condolences. The funeral service, celebrating Natalie's life and faith, will take place on June 8, 2023 at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, where Natalie will be laid to rest beside her beloved family.
