Nell Lavata Ballard, 105, of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 15th, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19th, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sunflower Health Care, 7398 West 162nd Terrace, Stilwell, Kansas 66085. Nell was born May 19, 1906 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of William and Anna Creswell. She was married for 68 years to Rev. Arthur W. Ballard, a United Methodist minister, before his death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Ella A. Palladine, son Ronald A. Ballard, son-in-law Angus M. Reed, and daughter-in-law Jeanette Ballard. Nell is survived by her daughter Donna Reed of Stilwell, Kansas, son Arthur W. Ballard Jr. of Littleton, Colorado, son-in-law John Pallendine of Lakeland, Florida, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
