Norma A. Bishop, 90, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 20, 2016. She was born April 20, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. She was a 35+ year member of Colonial Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by sons Cameron (Vicki) Bishop of Leawood, Kansas, and Mark (Kim) Bishop of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter Wendy Eickmeyer (Kurt) of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren Lindsey, Zachary, Taylor, Baylee Bishop and Sarah Ashby (Brad); great-grandchildren Liam and Elle Ashby and Brooklyn Bishop; and her beloved cat Mr. Gray.
Norma spent 30 years working as a secretary and receptionist. She took great pride in her beautiful gardens and was well known for her creative and award-winning flower arrangements. She enjoyed making dolls and costumes for her grandchildren and loved clowns. She was a Big Band music fan and a great dancer, winning numerous competitions.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 25, from 1-2PM followed by a service at 2PM at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Burial will follow the service at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colonial Presbyterian Church or Wayside Waifs Humane Society, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64137.
