Norma ended her earthly life and began her Heavenly life on March 4, 2026, at the age of 104 while residing at Astoria, AZ Assisted Living in Phoenix, AZ. She was born on September 2, 1921, in Clark, MO to Lawrence and Daisy Embree. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos. Also preceding her were a brother, June, and a sister, Bonnie. She is survived by her two sons: Gary (Beth) of San Antonio, TX, and Dennis (Karen) of Glendale, AZ. She was the grandmother of Eric Bradley and Kathy Castanon (Joseph)
and the great grandmother of Dace Bradley and Lucy Castanon. Two surviving nephews are David Ducey and Tom Embree.
Norma was a simple but eloquent woman who deeply loved her family, friends and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She gave of herself in serving others. She taught Sunday School for many years to three and four year old children as well as to First and Second Graders at First Calvary Baptist Church in Kansas City. She also served as the Wedding Coordinator at First Calvary. Norma greatly enjoyed her combined 52 years of serving as a hospital volunteer at the Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City and then at Honor Health (Deer Valley) Hospital in Phoenix.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM on April 15 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, located at 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City.
