

Norman B. Hudson, 91, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home Chapel, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 16 at the chapel. Mr. Hudson was born in 1919 at Solsberry, Indiana, son of James and Mae (Eller) Hudson. He graduated from Indiana University and received a Master's degree from Butler University. While serving as a U.S. Army officer during World War II in the Pacific Theater, Mr. Hudson received a Purple Heart. He remained active in the Army Reserves, retiring as a LT. COL. Mr. Hudson served 34 years as a regional budget director for the FAA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine Hudson and ten brothers and sisters. He will be missed dearly by daughter, Jody Bradley and husband, Dick of Fairway, Kansas; son, Dennis Hudson and wife, Cindy of Lenexa, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Walter and husband Aaron, Carrie Bradley, Stacey Sweeney and husband John, Wendy Hudson, and Kevin Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends. As a longtime, active member of Colonial Presbyterian Church, his family suggests memorial contributions to the church. He was an honored husband, father, grandfather, citizen and soldier always prepared with humor, stories, quotes and poetry to entertain and comfort all.
