Son of Henry and Henriette Schweder, both immigrated from Denmark. He attended Wyandotte High School, Kansas City Kansas Community College and Pittsburg State University. He joined the United States Navy after graduating high school serving during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member or Westwood Lutheran Church in Westwood, KS. He worked at both Sinclair Oil Corporation and Mobil Oil Corporation. Norman was Married to Jane Schweder for over 50 years before her passing in 2017. He was the youngest of six children proceeded in death by his three brothers, Henry, Los Angeles, CA, Carl, Beaverton, OR, Hans, Fairway, KS, and his two sisters Ann, Gladstone, MO, and Margaret, Great Bend, KS. His Survivors include his sons Eric Schweder, Kansas City, MO, and John Schweder and his wife Li-Pei, New York City, NY and grandson’s, Soren and Spencer Schweder. A Memorial service will be planned at a later date.
