Ophelia was a character and a SPECIAL FRIEND. We met in the fitness center here at John Knox. She came via dial a ride and sometimes had a meal after her workout. We had breakfast together a few times and what fun. Her flowers in front of her cottage were beautiful! She had figured out how to dig in the dirt sitting in her chair. I will miss her, but I know she and Jesus are having GREAT fun in heaven.

I remember Ophelia from Center Ridge & Friendship Baptist Church. She always had a smile and kind words for all.

Ophelia was part of our neighborhood group at JKV. I first met her at the resident's garden. As I recall it was the summer after she moved here. On one occasion when I stopped by with the Village Voice, she asked me in and immediately there was an aroma coming from the kitchen that was out of this world. I asked her what she was cooking and her reply was 'Oh, it's just such and such.' (I don't remember what she said, but it was out of this world. Ophelia's cottage will always be just that, Ophelia's cottage. May God wrap his arms around her and welcome her home. Shera McDowell
