I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Orville October 1977. I had just returned from missionary service in Europe, and was visiting Lee's Summit. When I had gone overseas, I had to give up my beautiful Gibson guitar, because it would have been destroyed in travel. Orville was so kind as to give up his beautiful handmade classical guitar that he had purchased in Tijuana Mexico while serving in the Navy. Of course I did not refuse, though I was distressed that he would give up such a beautiful memory, to me. This precious guitar was used in music Ministry for many years. I have never forgotten the sacrifice that Orville made in giving up that beautiful guitar. Rest in peace Orville. God bless and keep your family.

I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago when I was a teenager. He was a very kind generous man with a very kind heart. His family was very important to him and I know Richard was a reflection of being raised by a very loving family.  I pray for comfort for his family until they can all be reunited together in heaven one day. I was honored to have had the family in my life so many years ago and will always cherish those times.

I had the pleasure of working with Orville within our associated funeral homes. He was a very kind and gracious person. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be sadly missed.
