Pamela Jo Keener, also known as Pam, passed away on March 30, 2024, in Olathe, Kansas, at the age of seventy-seven. She was born on February 16, 1947, in Salina, Kansas. Pamela is survived by her husband of 56 years, James L. Keener. Pamela was a loving mother survived by her son, David Keener of Lone Jack, Missouri and daughter, Amy Naylor (Chris) of Olathe, Kansas, four grandchildren: Laura Keener, Dylan Naylor, Joseph Keener, and Emerson Naylor, and two nephews: Beau Thomas, and Evan Thomas. She is also survived by her sister, Cindy Thomas of Newburgh, Maine. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Ryan Thomas, her father, Corliss Paramore, and mother, Peggy Hubbard Paramore.
Pamela, a talented individual, enjoyed painting, sewing, hand artistries, and playing the piano. She had a passion for creativity and music that brought joy to those around her and laughing was something she enjoyed doing with her family and friends. Pamela attended Delphos High School in Delphos, Kansas, and attended Kansas State University. She played softball as a child and enjoyed being a member of adult women’s fast pitch teams. She attended her children’s sporting events and volunteered on the Chapman Parks and Recreation Board. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Royals baseball and Kansas State athletics.
She hosted exchange students from Finland, Mexico, Germany, and Switzerland through the AFS program.
A graveside service to honor Pamela’s life will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, April 3 at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Pamela Jo Keener. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
