Pam was born in Kansas City, MO, February 28, 1946. She grew up in Raytown, MO, where she was loved by her parents, younger sister, grandparents and extended family. She graduated from Raytown High School and then earned a degree from Missouri Valley in Marshall, MO. Pam lived and worked in Laurie, MO, at Millstone Lodge for several years. She and her husband of more than 30 years, Stanley Ratliff, had several houses on the Lake of the Ozarks over the years where they enjoyed boating, skiing, swimming and spending time with family and friends. Pam also served as the Executive Director of the Greater Kansas City Dental Society where she retired.
Pam was an avid supporter of conservation and supported numerous not-for-profit organizations. She had a special fondness for elephants. Pam was also a private pilot and active in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and 99s. She helped build and flew an experimental airplane, supported the EAA Young Eagles Program, and attended the EAA Air Venture event in Oshkosh, WI, for many years.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gwen Johnson, and husband, Stanley Ratliff. Pam is directly survived by her sister Nancy E. Shaw (Douglas), nephew Aaron Shaw (Nelly), niece Amanda Shaw, and niece Amber Dickensheets (Marc), two great-nephews, five great-nieces, and also survived by Stanley’s daughter and two sons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to 99s Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund and the American Cancer Society (see below).
