Parcida "Peggy" Hoeppner 92, of Raytown MO. passed away Friday, November 2nd, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 8240 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City MO. Visitation is Friday, November 9th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Peace Lutheran Church.

Peggy was born September 22nd, 1926 to James S. and Ida (Law) Cochran in Marceline, MO. She graduated from Marceline High School, in 1944. After graduation, Peggy moved to Kansas City, MO and worked in the Art Department of Hallmark Cards. It was during this time that she was introduced to Fredrick H. Hoeppner Jr. They were married February 14th, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO. where they served for many years.

Later, Peggy and Fred became members of Peace Lutheran Church where she served in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the OWLS (Older, Wiser Lutheran's). Peggy found joy in serving others. She volunteered at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home, Raytown Emergency Assistance Program and many other projects over the years with Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, and Peace Lutheran Church.

Peggy loved her family. She was always the voice of care and encouragement and labored to provide a nurturing environment in her home. Peggy was an accomplished seamstress, she also knitted and crocheted. She made many articles of clothing, sweaters and afghans for her family and even made a wedding dress for a neighbor. Peggy and Fred nurtured their grandchildren and cared for them daily during their pre-school years. In doing so, they provided a legacy of invaluable memories to the ones they loved so dearly.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, seven siblings, and son-in-law, Doug L. Herthel. She is survived by son, Fred M. (Melody) Hoeppner of Cleveland, MO; daughter, Gail E. Hoeppner-Herthel of Olathe, KS. Grandchildren: Matthew T., Luke E., Timothy K., Aaron M., Sabra N. Hoeppner and Todd A. Herthel. Great grandchildren: Alivia D. Hoeppner and Lucas T. and Lydia S. Herthel.
