Patricia Ann Bish

Patricia Ann Bish, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and granny, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 in Kansas City, Missouri at age 86. She was born in Mendon, Missouri on September 16, 1939 to parents David and Wilner Zahner.

Patricia loved spending time with her family, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, growing all sorts of beautiful flowers, robust herbs, and juicy tomatoes. She also liked to pass the time drawing, coloring, and reading thriller novels. She lived a life full of joy, and she faced hardship and adversity with much perseverance and grace. She spent most of her career in the optical field and was passionate about eye health and all things to do with ophthalmology. She was always ready to teach her loved ones wonderful life lessons from sewing, cooking, and gardening that will be passed down through her family. Her memory will live on in all the hearts of her family, friends, and all her many loved ones who were dearly special to her in this life. Patricia loved the LORD with all her heart, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. and Wilner A. (Lambert) Zahner; daughters, Rebecca Lynn Bish, Sophia Renee (Bish) Stithem; brothers, Jerauld Zahner, James Zahner, Jewel Zahner; and sister, Mary Jane Woody. She is survived by her sister, Lula “Marilyn Sue” Jones (Norman); her daughter, Michelle Ann Haughey (Bill); sons, Joseph Lee Bish, David Lawrence Bish (Mary), Charles Warren Bish, III (Vickie), and Anthony Jay Bish; grandchildren, Johnathan Bish (Christopher), Ashley Saenz (Jose), Anita Snyder (Derek), Anna Engelhart (Andy), Adriane Bish, Emily Glise (Joe), Olivia Bish, Ayala Drennen (Tyler); 20 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Patricia didn’t want a funeral or celebration of life. So, in lieu of sending flower arrangements to the family, we welcome you to make a donation in her name to KC Pet Project because she had such a love for animals.
