Patricia Marie Cunningham

Patricia was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to John Walter Reedy and Mary Zita Dempsey on November 9, 1940. Patti attended Highland Hospital School of Nursing in New York where she graduated as an RN. She then went on to further her education In San Francisco, California where she received her master’s degree in Nursing.

She married Harold Wayne Cunningham on October 30, 1971. They traveled and lived in several places where she worked as a nurse. As her career grew, she ended up working in administration, retiring around the age of 74. Patti adored being a nurse. She was devoted to her family and loved to travel and go on cruises. She was a voracious reader in her spare time and she loved her pets, especially her dog Happy. In her later years, she played a mean game of Bingo.

Preceded in death by her parents John and Zita, her brother Walter and her husband Harold.

Survived by her brother John (Buffer) Reedy and his wife Helen, her sister Mary Zita (Mamie) Reedy and husband Chuck Underhill. Her three children Marie Elizabeth Lewis, Harold Wayne Cunningham and his wife Nancy and Deborah Anne Cunningham and her partner Scott Woods. She was also survived by former daughter-in-law Janet Castro, and 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survived her.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10017 E 36th St S, Independence, Missouri 64052. Committal service at 2:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, Missouri 64037.
