Oh, what a sad day it was, to hear of Patty's passing. To her family, it was an honor to have had her as a friend and colleague. We spent many times talking together and sharing our stories. She was a very special person and a true angel on this earth. Patty the butterfly has left her cocoon, to be with the angels that needed her so soon. Patty, you are free at last and with your Lord. Thank you for the memories and the honor of your friendship.

To the family of my esteemed SJC colleague of many years,

I was very sorry to learn of Patty's passing just today. I was a colleague of hers at San Juan College out of the school of Science, Math and Engineering from the time I arrived in 1995. Patty was someone you could not ignore and who made an impression.

The poet Maya Angelou once said that while people may sometimes forget what you said, they will never forget how you made them feel.

And I well remember how Patty made me feel after sitting beside her at a campus wide meeting or the random encounters with her in the hallways or the once in awhile visits in her office to discuss a college issue. She always made me feel valued both as a person and as a professional. And she made me laugh a lot. I always felt better after my interactions with her and that is no small thing.

Those feelings I will always remember.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort in the knowledge that her impact here in Northwest New Mexico was large and is ongoing in the many students and colleagues she touched.

To the family of Patty,

Patty and I shared so many prayer times together. We were friends when we worked at San Juan College. We always visited about our families. My only prayer is that she did not suffer too much with COPD. I liked her so much as a friend and a confidant.

God bless Patty's soul and blessings to her family.

I worked with Patty on the Graduation Committee at San Juan College. She was a delight to be around! Sharp as a tack with a little sass. Patty was one of the treasures of SJC. She is missed.
