Patricia Dyann (Quinn) Smith of Raytown, MO passed away on October 10, 2011 as a result of Sarcoidosis. Visitation will be held at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel on Wednesday Oct. 12th from 6-8pm with rosary at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial held at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Thursday at 10am with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pat was born December 5, 1937 to Lester John & Bertha Ladzinski Quinn. Her education from Elementary to High School was at Loretto Academy (class of 1954) in Kansas City. Prior to marrying Tom on June 8, 1957, Pat worked as a fashion model as well as in retail sales & clerical. In addition to being a wonderful wife & mother, Pat kept the books for the family business for more than two decades. She was very involved in the PTA, Altar Society & the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Pat was a League Bowler for more than 40 years and was a League President for more than 20 years. She spent many of those years in both a Monday Noon & Friday Noon Ladies League. Pat dearly loved flowers and every year she would pot, plant & tend hundreds of plants. If some of them didn’t survive, she would simply say “that’s ok, it was worth it. I enjoyed them and there’s always next year.” Over the past 12 years Pat endured many health challenges; SHE NEVER COMPLAINED OR ASKED “WHY ME?” she simply dug in & fought each one with her best effort. In the end she didn’t lose, she simply ran out of time before she could win. Pat is survived by her husband, Tom of the home; her children, Susan, Linda (Tom), Donald (Kolene), Julie & Robert (Sandy); 6 grandchildren & 1 step grandchild, Jacob, Sara (Shawn), Bryan, Tyler, Tanner, Jack & Todd; 6 great-grandchildren & 1 step great-grandchild, Khristopher, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Ethen, Kolton, Kaleb & Brianna. Patty Jane we love & miss you. Pray for us. Condolences may be left at www.mcgilleysheil.com
