Pat worked at Southwestern Bell in the late 40’s in Dodge City, Kansas. She married Glen Tomlinson in 1950 and was off to Kansas City. She worked as a receptionist and office coordinator for the Continental Grain Company on the Country Club Plaza for 25 years. In her retirement years she was a volunteer for St. Bernadette Catholic Parish and helped in administrating the church pantry for several years.
Her passion in life was her child Glen Jr, the Appleton Street neighborhood kids and her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she spoiled all of us rotten, but man did we have fun!
She loved horse racing and frequent trips to Omaha and Las Vegas and her lottery games. She also loved just hanging out with her husband and family and watching mystery movies and sports on television and making us all great snacks. She was truly a generous and creative woman and an amazing mom and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Tomlinson, her parents William and Edith McVey of Dodge City and her brother William McVey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She is survived by her son Glen Tomlinson Jr., daughter-in-law Denise Wenzel Tomlinson, granddaughters Jennifer Walsh (Ben), Lindy Clark (Justin) and Katie Montoya (Michael J). She is also survived by six amazing great grandchildren: Austin and Alexis Montoya, Nick and Alex Walsh and Taylor and Hannah Clark, super kids and athletes in which Patricia loved watching their games. And also a sister Zola Hessman.
Services are Wednesday, May 12th at St. Bernadette Catholic Church
9020 East 51 Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64133 with visitation at 10:00am followed by Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 with burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorial donations if desired may be made to the American Heart Association.
