Patsy Carolyn White-Green
October 6, 1933 – September 1, 2020
Patsy Carolyn (Erwin) White-Green, Gravois Mills, MO passed away at 86 on Monday, September 1, 2020.
Patsy was born October 6, 1933 in Carrollton, MO. Her family moved to Kansas City when she was in grade school. Patsy graduated from Rosedale High School in Kansas City, KS in 1951.
Patsy was a great cook and enjoyed hosting holidays for family and friends. We will always cherish the memories of the many 4th of July parties, even those that included burning bushes when the fireworks went astray, Easter Egg Hunts with hundreds of eggs for the kids, and Christmas celebrations with her lovely decorations, amazing food, and beautifully wrapped gifts.
She met Larry Green when working for Deffenbaugh Industries where she was employed for over 25 years. She and Larry married in 1985. While at Deffenbaugh Pat spent time routing trucks and became an expert on how to get around Kansas City. She was even known to have fun riding along with Larry on some of those routes from time to time.
Patsy retired from Deffenbaugh in 1998 and she and Larry moved from Shawnee, KS to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2006. Patsy loved the lake life and could often be found on her deck visiting with neighbors and friends. If you shared her views, those visits might include some political debates. She also loved being out on the water riding her Jet Ski. When indoors, she could be found sewing or knitting, making quilts, doll clothes, Halloween costumes and afghans for family and friends. She was also an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles.
Patsy liked to travel and fulfilled a lifelong dream when she got her first passport in 2015 and travelled with Larry to England. Other favorite vacations included an Alaskan cruise that she took in 2002 with Larry, Lee Ann, and her grandson Nick, numerous road trips across the United States with Larry and “Fluff”, and a mother-daughter trip for her 85th birthday to see the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, VA when it was decorated for the Holidays.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Erwin; her father, George Erwin; her brother, Harold Lee Erwin, and her sister, Clara Bernice Brockman.
She leaves her husband of 35 years, Larry Green; her son, Terry White; her daughter, Lee Ann Hawley, her son-in-law, Jeff Hawley; her nephew, Mike Brockman; her nephew’s wife, Liz Brockman, 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her 2 beloved Bichons, Shoo Shoo and Lace.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests people donate in Patsy’s memory to any charity they wish.
Friends are welcome to join the family for an informal graveside celebration of Patsy’s life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 10:00 am at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
