Patti Elaine Grozdanich, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Duluth, MN, to Milan and Alice Grozdanich, Patti shared her childhood with her three cherished siblings: Lynn Bergstrom (Brian), Rod Grozdanich (Sue), and Paula Oman (Lee). Her early years in Duluth were filled with joy, laughter, and the warm company of lifelong friends and family who always held a special place in her heart.
Patti’s passion for learning and service defined her remarkable life. After attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI, she embarked on a transformative year with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. Her dedication to education and helping others inspired her career as a school psychologist in Iowa and Kansas City. Patti’s ambition later led her to earn an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Kansas, paving the way for a distinguished career in the healthcare industry. A proud member of "Women Who Mean Business," Patti also devoted herself to supporting Operation Breakthrough, championing initiatives to aid less fortunate families and working parents.
Above all, Patti’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her two devoted children, Patrick and Molly Cain, who love her dearly. In 2020, Patti welcomed Walter, a spirited little dog who quickly became her constant companion and favorite buddy, despite her lifelong ambivalence toward pets. Walter brought her immeasurable happiness in her later years.
Patti’s vibrant spirit was reflected in her love for travel, gardening, puzzles, reading, games, and music. She cherished time spent with friends and family, attending concerts, and enthusiastically cheering for her Kansas City Chiefs—especially during game days shared with her closest companions.
Her kindness, intelligence, and warm spirit touched everyone she encountered. Patti’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Patti’s life will be held at McGilley State Line Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2025, the visitation at 1:00 p.m., and her service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Operation Breakthrough in her honor, continuing her legacy of empowering others.
