Paul W. “Jiffy” Jenkins, 96, of Overland Park, Kansas, was called home to God on Friday, May 29, 2026 after a long illness. Paul was born on December 2, 1929 to Paul W. and Lucille McPherson Jenkins in Kansas City, Missouri.
Paul began his career working for the family business, Jenkins Music Company, in sales where he quickly found his niche. He opened his own business on the Country Club Plaza featuring Hammond Organs and he later expanded the business to include pianos, adopting the name Jenkins Music Company. His long career also included real estate sales, business development consulting, and authoring three books.
His true passions were realized after retirement when he spent countless hours volunteering in the community. But by far, his favorite places in the world were Ludington, Michigan, and his farm outside Olathe, Kansas. It was there he reveled in what he called God’s creation as he and his favorite dog, Max, walked the woods, meadows, and creek together.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Jenkins; stepchildren, Mark (Tara) Briggs and Wendy Briggs; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four daughters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Overland Park, KS on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held immediately after in the Martha and Mary Room at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care. We would also extend our heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of Silvercrest at College View, Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care and Hospice House, and the many dear friends and wonderful neighbors who have been so incredibly supportive.
