Peggy was born January 9, 1925 to William F. and Ella C. Thompson in Kansas City, Missouri. She was Salutatorian of the Paseo High School class of 1942, where she fell in love with her husband of nearly 68 years, George H. Jones.
Among her favorite things, Peggy loved being a mother and Grammy, maintaining life-long friendships, hosting gatherings of family and friends, and many travel adventures with George following his retirement from Research Medical Center. As members of the Paseo High School Alumni Committee, they planned decades of successful reunions, and she savored 70 years of outings with her Paseo Lunch Bunch.
She was a gifted seamstress, had a love of baking and was known for gifting delicious and exquisite confections.
For nearly 50 years, Peggy was a member of Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, where her love of music led her to sing in the choir and perform with Singing Circle. She was a past officer of her P.E.O. chapter.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George H. Jones; her parents, brother William “Bud” Thompson; and in-laws Mary R. & Dr. George H. Jones, Sr., and Anabel (Jones) Traylor.
