Peggy married Ruben in Honolulu, HI, and from that time on they tried to spend as much time together as possible. They loved to travel, try new things, and meet people. They were able to visit all 50 states, over 125 countries, 7 continents, all of the Presidential Libraries and many of the National Parks.
After receiving a BS in Economics and a MBA, Peggy worked as a Grant Manager, Senior Program Manager, and Trainer for Department of Labor funded programs for over 30 years, and taught college level economics at Rockhurst University and Kansas City, Kansas Community College.
After retiring, she started her VOLUNTEER LIFE, and Ruben and she volunteered for over 12 years at many different Fine Arts organizations including the Kansas City Symphony, Opera, Ballet, Kansas City Repertory Theater, Quality Hill Playhouse, Johnson County Community College Carlsen Center, MET, KC Actors Theater, MTH at Crown Center, Starlight Theatre, Spinning Tree Theatre, Coterie, and the Folly Theater. Peggy belonged to 3 book clubs as well as the Leawood Women's Club, Leawood Welcomer's, Brown & Gold, and the Leawood Garden Club. She helped co-chair the Art, Literature, and Garden Club Etcetera day trip groups of these organizations. She enjoyed painting and took art classes at Johnson County Community College, The Nelson Atkins Art Museum, and The Jewish Community Center. Peggy took water aerobics classes, Tai Chi, and YOGA classes. She loved what she called her "SECOND LIFE" and said that if she had known that this other world existed, she would have joined these clubs and volunteered much sooner.
Peggy is survived by her wonderful, adoring husband, Ruben, and her loving nieces and nephew, almost all of whom had lived with her sometime during their lives, and their now spouses had all slept on her couches. Robbie (Wendee) Seaton; Kristy (Tyler) Kelley; Lindsey (Rob) Zucker, and Kelsey Himes, and their children (Kaitlyn Seaton; the St. Louis Group - Claire, Connor, and Calleigh Kelley; and the Himes Kids - Sara Kate, Brennan, Mallory, and Mae.) She loved her great nieces and nephews and had made quilts for each of them, just as her Mother had made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Additional survivors included her siblings Gary, Darrel, Judy & Elaine; her stepdaughter, Teresa and her children Brianna, Telicia, and Diego. She is also survived by about 500 nieces and nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews on Ruben's side, and she adored all of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Alberta Ammons, and a niece, Ronda Seaton.
