Phillip began his career at Kmart in 1974, where he worked diligently until 1993. His dedication and hard work led to his promotion from a stockman to the Garden Shop Manager. Following his tenure at Kmart, he continued his career at Lowe's Home Improvement in Independence, MO, also as the Garden Shop Manager.
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Egner, who passed on August 22, 2020. He is survived by his father, Gustave Egner, his brother Paul Egner, and his sister Patty Ann Egner.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, 64131, on September 25, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
