Mrs. Phyllis Louise Fossell, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015. Phyllis was born Phyllis Louise McKinley on October 24th, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Philip McKinley and Charlotte Rudolph. She grew up in Brookside and spent most of her life in the Kansas City area.
Phyllis graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1951 where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She married George William Fossell on September 17th, 1955 and they spent 53 years together before his death in 2008. Phyllis loved to travel. She and George traveled to Hawaii ten times during their marriage. Phyllis was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first.
Phyllis leaves behind her four children, who will forever miss her, Susan Banks, Jeannette Skeens, Charlie Fossell, Carol Nold, and her identical-twin sister Charlotte Bevington, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
