Elouise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Staley, who went to Heaven on October 16, 2025. Together, Elouise and Ralph shared nearly 67 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, faith, and cherished memories.
Elouise’s faith was an important part of her life, and she loved studying the Bible. She found joy in the simple things, especially chocolate cake, ice cream, and cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Her warm smile, sassy personality, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Elouise was a talented cake decorator and wedding cake caterer, creating beautiful cakes for many special celebrations. She also worked in Nutrition Services for the school district. She chose this work in part because it allowed her to be home with her children, Douglas and Rashelle, while they were young—a reflection of how deeply she valued being a mother and being present for her family.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Staley and his wife, Crystal, of Princeville, Illinois, and Rashelle Weissenbach and her husband, Mike, of Lake Winnebago, Missouri. She will be lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren: Aidan, Madden, Isabella, Phillip, and Luke.
Elouise’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, devotion, and countless sweet memories that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing she is now at peace in Heaven in the loving arms of Jesus and finally reunited with Ralph, her mother and father, Goldie and Virgil Orear, and her loving Aunt Rubie.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Blue River Church of Christ in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Memorial Services immediately following at Floral Hills East in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Elouise’s life, share memories, and honor the love, faith, and legacy she leaves behind.
