Randy Lee Kratzer, age 66, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away peacefully at home with his wife Delores by his side on February 4, 2024. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 19, 1957, the son of Manuel and Pearlie (Ellifrits) Kratzer.
Randy was truly a unique soul. He had an incredible sense of humor, a heartwarming compassion for others, and was known and love by many family and friends.
Randy grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1975. He also obtained an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Kansas City Kansas Community College. He then joined the US Army and served in the 164th Military Police Company as a Team Leader. Randy served in several assignments in Europe and received several Letters of Commendation for Outstanding Performance. After his military career, he served as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for thirty years.
A loving husband to Delores for 39 years, Randy's life with Delores can be marked by unwavering love, playful banter and many memories with their family. Randy is survived by his wife Delores; his children Kristi Suderman (Robert) of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Carolyn Franco (Jimmy) of Kansas City, Missouri; Anthony Franco of Kansas City, Missouri; Edward "Eddie" Franco of Kansas City, Missouri; Robert Franco (Michelle) of Kansas City, Missouri; his sister Rhonda Nava of Lansing, Kansas; his brother Rick Kratzer of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
Services for Randy will be at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, MO 64119; on Thursday, February 8; Visitation from 5 to 6pm and Celebration of Life Service starting at 6pm. Placement will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas at a later time.
