Rayburn Alton Moore Jr.

Ray was born on January 8th, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Rayburn A. and Myrtle I. (Berglund) Moore. He received a B.S. Degree from UMKC in 1961, and graduated from UMKC Dental School in 1965. Ray had a dental practice in Overland Park, Kansas, retiring in 1995. In 1978 he joined the Army Reserved and 32 years later retired as a Colonel.

After retirement Ray and his wife Sheri moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where he became involved with the Fun Runners Car Club. He loved showing his classic car and spending time with other members of the car club.

During their year at the lake they traveled a lot and especially enjoyed cruising.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Rayburn and Myrtle Moore and sister Betty Catherton. He is survived by his wife Sheri Moore of Overland Park, Kansas, his daughter Stacey Moore of Overland Park, Kansas, son Mike Moore of Linn Creek, Missouri, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and John R. Ridenour of Fairway, Kansas, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Villa St. Francis Nursing Home for the excellent loving care Ray received during his residency.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 9th, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Inurnment with Military Honors in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Villa St. Francis, 16600 West 126th Street, Olathe, Kansas 66062.
