Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his son, Gene, his brother, Clarence, and five sisters, Gladys Schroeder, Myrtle Stoll, Katherine Alumbaugh, Hazel Fleming, and Fern Myers.
Glen graduated from Corder High School. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the Army and did a brief stint at the end of WWII. Then, he was sent to Korea at the beginning of the Korean conflict. Upon release from the Army two years later, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent the next two years on a ship. Glen loved his time in the Navy and told many stories to all who would listen.
After the Navy, he came home to Missouri and there he met Shirley Jean Humphress and they were married July 1, 1955 and had almost fifty-eight years together until Shirley’s passing in 2013. They had two sons, Gene and David. Gene lost a battle to Lymphoma in 2019.
Glen loved spending his retirement years with his family, especially his seven grandchildren(Landon, Brad, Shaun, Devin, Kevin, Kaelin and Megan) and nine great-grandchildren. Glen was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and this commitment was evident in how he lived his life before others. He enjoyed a Sunday fellowship meeting in the home right up until two weeks before he passed. He always expressed a message of thankfulness for what God and others had done for him.
