The University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, KS.
He was born on December 5, 1962, in Kansas City, MO, to Donald Paul Jenkins and Ardys Mae (Supplee) Jenkins. Ray graduated from Raytown High School and, after joining Pisciotta Foods, pursued a career in Purchasing and Merchandising in the Food Industry. He had the opportunity to move to various cities and states with US Foods where he continued to turn colleagues into friends. He was known for his outgoing and upbeat attitude, the ability to turn anything phenomenal, and his contagious smile and laugh.
Ray was a true foodie, both in his career and in his personal life. A talented cook and master of the grill, he took pride in preparing meals that brought people together—no guest ever left his home hungry. Beyond the kitchen, Ray found joy in golfing, boating, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, but what he cherished most was spending quality time with his family and friends. Ray first married Sharon (Seiwald) Jenkins, with whom he had three children. After their separation, he later married Debra (Wadley) Jenkins in 2000, blending their families and lovingly embracing Debi’s two sons.
He is survived by his children: Paul (Krystal) Jenkins, Kate (Vince) Carollo, Caroline (Andy) Peck, Jason (Erin) Brunk & Jared Brunk; his grandchildren: Mary Jane (14), Joslynn (12), Levi (7) Jenkins, Nino (4), Camilla (4) Carollo & Abby (15) Brunk; his sister: Evelyn Barnes; his brother: Vincent Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his wife: Debra Jenkins and his parents: Don and Ardys Jenkins.
