Raymond Eldon Rowland, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 11, 2011 at Villa Ventura. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Garden of Faith Mausoleum. Mr. Rowland was born January 27, 1920 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, son of Asa L. and Margaret A. (Boyle) Rowland. He attended CMSU and was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Rowland retired as Director of Operations for the U.S. Postal Service and as President of Government. Employees Hospitalization Association. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Country Club Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis and son Larry. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Tracy, grandchildren Andrew and wife Kirsten and Jennifer, and three great-grandchildren.
