Raymond Sylvester Venerable was born March 25, 1944. He was the eldest son of nine children. Parents, LeRoy and Sammie Venerable, twin brothers, one step-son, and grandson preceded him in death.
Raymond completed his elementary and secondary education in the Kansas City, public schools, graduating from Manual High School class of 1962. Raymond was a devoted Kansas City Firefighter, who took great pride in his ability to maneuver the tiller, of the hook and ladder truck. Raymond retired after 27 years of faithful service. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, sports, and reading the Kansas City Star.
Those left to celebrate his home going are his loving wife, Janice; his children, Dr. Brian Venerable (Kischchen), Rhae Lynn Campbell (Lemuel), Leslie Rashid (Hakim), Delbert Kinchelow (Deidre), Zearl Kinchelow (Carolyn) and step daughter in law, LaWanda Kinchelow. He is survived by six siblings, Lamont Venerable, Gaila Sullivan (Reginald), Rodney Venerable (Arlene), Gisele Venerable, Myron Venerable (Tracy) and Randall Venerable; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two aunts, Lillian McChord and Arlene Long; two uncles, Eugene Venerable and Lewis Hurtt (Carol) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
