Rhonda Kay Zumalt

Rhonda was born April 8th, 1967 to Ron and Ingeborg Greenhagen. She grew up in Overland Park, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1985. Rhonda was devoted to her career in the healthcare industry and had a deep passion for helping others. This passion led her in all aspects of her life. Everyone she’s met reflects on how caring and loving she was; always a shoulder to lean on, a helping hand to guide you through.

Rhonda is survived by her husband Jimmy and their children, Kyley, Frankie, and Ryan, as well as many family members and friends.

Rhonda and Jimmy were married September 3rd, 1994. Together they had three children- Kyley, Frankie, and Ryan. She was the most devoted wife and mother one could ask for. Rhonda would have done anything for her family.

Rhonda believed in seeing the magic in the world. She believed in the beauty of nature and everything around her; music, people, literature, movies, and art. Rhonda loved rhythm, music and dancing. She and Jimmy attended hundreds of concerts throughout the years, from The Grateful Dead to Buddy Guy. Their first show together was Paul McCartney in Kansas City, their last was Bonnie Raitt at Red Rocks, Colorado.

Our mom, wife, sister, and friend will be missed more than words could ever convey. So here’s to you, Mom; may you enjoy all your loves in eternity, and may we always enjoy them, in the present, presently, for you. Here’s to Alabama Shakes and Pharrell; Zum Rub, eucalyptus and lavender; “Thelma and Louise Live,” Prince, and Purple Rain. Here’s to tie dye’s, bells on ankle bracelets, and sitting on a blanket with your toes in the green grass. Here’s to driving in your convertible with the top down, your love for Birkenstock sandals, and those red cowboy boots. And, most of all, here’s to your beautiful, beautiful soul, spirit, smile, and laughter that will live within us forever and more.

Honda, you will always be our Scarlet Begonia.
