Richard “Dick” C. Beutler passed away Friday, November 6, 2015. Strength, loyalty and integrity defined the life of Dick Beutler. His physical strength was immense, matched only by the power of his immeasurable loyalty to all that he loved. His greatest love was his wife Bette of 62 years. Married at 18 & 19 years of age, hand in hand they shared their lives never far apart from one another. Their love overflowed into extended family and a family of their own. All family was deemed sacred to Dick. His loyalty was a gift to all. He was the favorite uncle and considered in-law to none but a true brother and son to all. As a father he devoted his time to coaching, encouraging and providing. His life was dedicated to the second love of his life the George J. Shaw Company. Dick, a civil engineer, went to work for George Shaw in 1955 and eventually owned the company. He was accomplished and respected in the world of excavating and construction. It was truly his passion and joy. If you drove through town with him he would point out a job he had worked on every other city block throughout Kansas City. His dedication to Faith Presbyterian Church was extensive. He put his heart and soul into it and he was the heart and soul of the church. He was a master with any tool and claimed to be with a fishing pole. He could fix or construct anything, literally. He loved to fish and treasured his many trips with his fishing buddies to Canada and nearby lakes. He leaves nine grandchildren all of whom claim him to be their favorite person and three great grandchildren that brought him extraordinary joy.
Preceded his death are his three sisters Phyillis Broussard, Margret Pitcher and Olive Mehl. His son-in-law Dan Pruett and many cherished friends.
