I just now found this. It makes me sad. While we went our separate ways when I quite working for the State, while I was there Rick was among my best friends. Some of our smoke breaks together lasted all day! I will always think of him with a smile.

Chris and Jason, I was saddened to hear that Rick had passed away.  Rick and I talked last month and told me a little about what was going on with him.  We talked on and off over the past few years since we both retired.  My thoughts are with you.  He and his sense of humor will be missed.

I am sorry that I didn't know in time to attend the visitation and funeral.

Am so sorry to hear about Rick's passing. He never forgot us and it touched me deeply when he came to pay his respects to dad.  He was your dad and he will life forever in your heart and in your memories. Share them often and you will feel him in the room standing beside you listening to every work with a smile.

I am grateful for the life of Mr.Grine.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Rick's passing.  He will be greatly missed.  We had such a great time working for the State of Missouri.  He kept me laughing all the time.  He had a wonderful sense of humor.

I was saddened to see Rick listed in the obituaries today.  Many, many years ago we were engaged to be married.  Lucky for you and for my family that it did not work out.  However, you might enjoy hearing how we met.  In 1960, Rick was a senior at Southwest High School.  I was a lowly freshman.  Everyday he would stand at the top of the steps on the fourth floor to meet his then girlfriend.  I had a class on the second floor, but everyday I would walk up to the fourth floor just to gaze at the handsome senior.  Then, when I was a senior, a friend wanted to set me up on a blind date with a sailor home on leave.  When I saw who that sailor was, I couldn't believe my good fortune.  He took me to my senior prom and about a year later we were engaged.  I hope my happy memories of your father will bring you some joy at this difficult time.  Sincerely,  Dee (Elkins) Burch
