Andy Lung, 74, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Brookdale Memory Care in Overland Park, Kansas, surrounded by family. Andy battled cancer and dementia in his last couple years of life. He was born July 4, 1951, in Independence, MO to Richard and Anna Lung.
Andy graduated from Truman High School in 1969 and began working at Guaranteed Foods, where he helped a growing business that provided families with home-delivered foods throughout the 1970s and early '80s.
After Guaranteed Foods, Andy bought a small Kawasaki dealership in Shawnee KS, which he grew into a successful business called Shawnee Kawasaki.
Later, he added Honda and Yamaha motorcycles and renamed the business. He left Shawnee Cycle Plaza to his longtime friend, Barry Bunner. He remained in the Motorcycle Industry wearing many different hats until he retired in 2020. Again, his acute business and marketing skills created a successful motorcycle dealership that served all the Kansas City area for years. Andy was well known amongst motorcycle enthusiasts throughout the Midwest.
With a natural ear for music, Andy played trombone, as well as guitar and some keyboards. His favorite musicians were Eric Clapton, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire.
In his last living days, his daughters (and their husbands) entertained him with his favorite music as he died peacefully.
In other words, he died a very happy man.
He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Lung and wife Virginia, Mother Anna Mason and husband Paul.
Andy is survived by his daughters Lisa Mazzarese (Mike), Lori Winters (FJ), brother Tim Lung (Kathy), sister Vanessa McNair, granddaughter Lilli Winters, and grandson Luca Mazzarese.
