He was born in Texas County, Missouri on May 12, 1961 to Bob Stowers and Joan Richardson, and raised by Ross Vollmar.
He attended Hickman Mills High School. Shortly after school, Richard began working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for companies such as Limpus Rock Quarry, and Westpro Fire Proofing through Union 101. When Richard was 20 he met his wife, Vicki Lu Schien, and they married in 1985. In 1987, Richard Jerome Stowers was born. Richard would often coach his son's baseball team; Jim's Muffler. Richard loved to ride his Harley and attend Sturgis rallies. He also enjoyed fishing. Vicki and Richard enjoyed many special trips to places like South Dakota, Tennessee, Branson and Nebraska. Richard will always be remembered for his personality. His family would describe him as "funny with a sprinkle of smartass".
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Rodney Cameron, and also by Ross Vollmar. He is survived by his wife Vicki Stowers, his son Ricky Stowers, his sisters Vicki Vaughn, Mary Kincaid, Connie Kenig, Debbie Sniff and Ranee Kelley, and his brother Bill Cameron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
